Human Brain versus Digital Television

Ever wonder how your brain works? Two researchers published an interesting paper in the Frontiers in Systems Neuroscience in 2016, drawing the similarities and differences between the brain mechanism and the digital television.

One major highlight of this paper is the brain compression mechanism, where the suggestion of reverse engineering can be applied to discover more efficient compression algorithms. What do you think? Can engineers recreate the highly dynamic and complex human brain function? How will this contribute to the initiatives and efforts toward the development of artificial intelligence?

Have a read of the paper and share with us your view.
